I was honoured to be Harry’s training partner in this course and being able to train it live gave me a deep understanding of the material quickly. I like the “simplicity” of the techniques and concepts that is taught in this course. Don’t get me wrong, “simple” does not mean ineffective and once you get an opportunity to train this course with a partner, you can feel the effectiveness of the techniques, even when pressure tested. I also like that Harry is not trying to sell you miracle techniques. He cuts to the chase (pun intended) and explains that the chances of surviving a knife attack are slim but having a framework for survival might just give you an edge (pun intended). If you ask me, I would rather have that extra chance (no matter how small) of survival. Go train!

WHEN to run away / escape

How to evade and strike with your longest reach tools...

...To make enough space and momentum to escape.
Learn emergency blocking, and two simple methods of 'turning the tide' of pressure.

Create loops between mid range and long range.
Learn how to temporarily slow down the attacker's weapon arm.

Add counter-strikes to stun, finish or create space.

Create Loops including Single Isolation.

Super-Charge those knife defence skills by applying these unarmed self defence techniques at Long Range, and Extreme Close Range.

When MORE control of the weapon arm is needed, we go to 2 on 1 grappling positions.

Learn options to fight back from this situation.

Create loops with the loss and re-establishing of isolation control.

I love FightDad courses. For many reasons. First, because I think Harry and I have a very similar mindset. In essence, the main thing is to enjoy martial arts, training, progressing, making good friends ... no ranks, politics nor associations. Second, Harry knows what he’s doing. Harry has a great teaching ability and he is a great martial artist. I bought his other courses and it helped me to clarify lot of concepts and techniques in a clear and easy way.
